Welcoming our new Finance and Administration Officer

We’re pleased to announce that Vickie Ellis has been appointed as Finance and Administration Officer for Netball Northern. Vickie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team, having previously worked at Auckland Netball Centre. With over 16 years in netball, including managing accounts for the Stars franchise, Vickie’s expertise will be invaluable to our organisation.

Applications for our Relationship Manager role close Monday 11 November. The role is responsible for driving growth and strengthening the delivery of netball across netball centres within our zone. It is highly focused on fostering collaboration, creating connections, and enhancing governance and leadership capabilities at netball centres.  Visit SEEK for more information and to apply.

Aktive Accessible Sport and Rec Workshop

Following the 2024 I.Lead Conference, inviting 40 young disabled people, Aktive are keen to run an Accessible Sport and Recreation Workshop on how to improve their experiences as we strive to create a more equitable sector.

This 2-hour workshop is targeted at all levels of the sport and recreation workforce who’d like to learn more about supporting young disabled people to have a positive experience and increase participate in your sport or recreation activity.

This includes those who are already working with the disabled community, particularly those working with key adult influencers (administrators, coaches, teachers, parents & whānau).

Expression of interest - Good Sports Champions Workshop

Aktive are keen to gauge interest in a potential Good Sports Champions Workshop.

Tuesday 26th November 9.30m – 12.30pm at AUT Millennium.

This half day workshop is targeted at Sport leads and workforce who have already attended a Good Sports Course and are working with key adult influencers (administrators, coaches, officials, parents & whānau).

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify potential “champions” within their community
  2. Understand the role of a “champion”
  3. Understand how the “champion” fits into the wider Good Sports environment
  4. Develop and support champions within their sporting community

Sport NZ Conference Scholarships for teachers and coaches

Sport NZ is offering five scholarships for teachers and five scholarships for community coaches to attend the 8th International Teaching Games for Understanding Conference taking place in Auckland in December 2024

Sport NZ - Let’s celebrate our Everyday Heros

Sport NZ have launched their Everyday Heroes campaign which aims to make coaches feel thanked and valued.

The campaign directs people to thankscoach.co.nz where anyone can create a personalised digital thank you message and have it sent to their coach.
