The Netball Manurewa Community and Events Centre is a community facility that is run by netball.
The following will give a brief insight into the efforts of those that went before us to ensure there was a netball facility in Manurewa for the community to enjoy.
The first president of Manurewa District Netball Association was Noeline Walsh. Noeline was president for 16 years from 1970 to 1986.
It was with Noeline’s leadership along with a dedicated team of supporters, which included the calibre of Elaine Tollen, Rienzi Hall, and Lillian Cattell, who fundraised for fourteen years to ensure the netball community facility at Dalgety Reserve came to fruition.
From the very beginning our facility was considered a community facility. Today, it is heartening to see that reflected in the current Strategic Plan with our mission statement and vision speaking to our beginnings.
